Foreign Objection Infection
This patient worked cutting hair. There had been a progressive build up of pain under the left 5th Metatarsalphalangeal joint. A full medical history revealed no underlying health complaints or obvious aetiological factors. The callous was debrided to reveal an infected pus sack of which several hairs were found amongst the pus. This patient recieved simple debridement and pus drainage. A sterile dressing was applied and the patient was followed up two days later with the foot being asymptomatic.
